UPDATE!  Beacon has made great progress and we are excited to say he is ready for a sleepover with a potential family! We have had two wonderful fosters (and their wonderful dogs!) work with this sweet boy to help him to learn confidence, social skills and manners. Beacon is good meeting strangers now and loves children but still meets other dogs with some timidity. However, he loves to play and once comfortable will play with large or small dogs. He will instigate play but we have noted that his "play bow" can sometimes be misinterpreted. Beacon will continue to learn social skills from other dogs who are non-aggressive. This beagle boy LOVES to run and would be happy to stretch it out in his own yard or on a regular trip to a dog park. Beacon is affectionate with humans and loves to cuddle. He does not bark very much, obeys basic commands and is now making straight As with housetraining... but we would always caution dogs may need a refresher course in a new home. He is comfortable being crated but sleeps in a dog bed at night. Some of Beacon's earlier difficulties may have been associated with a deep ear infection that we have treated. We do notice that sounds can sometimes scare him and even cause him to tremble a bit. The world is becoming a much less scary place for our Beacon boy and he is ready for a forever family to love!!

Beacon is an outgoing Beagle now that he has spent a little time away from the shelter. He is a spunky beagle boy and would love to have a family that can play with him and take him for lots of walks. We will look forward to sharing more details about Beacon's personality and temperament as he settles into his foster home.
